• So Weaknesses Can Be A Good Thing?

Before moving to East Texas and becoming a stay at home mom, I was a recruiter for a staffing agency. I loved it! Between the people I worked with and being able to be a blessing to those looking for work, it filled my cup every day. One of my job responsibilities was to interview new candidates, averaging about 5 interviews a day. So I have a pretty good understanding of the questions asked during an interview, and one of those I asked often (and if you google “interview questions” I can guarantee this one will be on the list) is “What would you consider as your strength, and what…

  • Don’t Wait To Get Motivated

How are your goals going? That’s a scary question to think about, isn’t it? We are in March, our goals are very much prominent in our minds yet our motivation is dwindling. There is that word… MOTIVATION. It’s my least favorite word to hear, because that one word tells me this – your ability to accomplish your goals is tied to how much you feel like doing what it takes to accomplish your goals. Motivation is defined as “Internal and external factors that stimulate desire and energy in people to be continually interested and committed to a job, role or subject, or to make an effort to attain a goal.”…

  • The Amazing Roasted Chicken

Hello friends! I am so excited to share with you my favorite recipe, roasted chicken! Sound familiar? It’s because I included it in my Whole30 meal plan (found here) and I talk about it pretty regularly. Is it weird to talk about roasted chicken regularly? My favorite food blogger is Pinch of Yum. She is for real genius and her pictures look like edible photos. And because of her amazing-ness, I can tell you that what you will read here will not be food-blogger status. I am your friend, sharing my favorite recipe. Alrighty, here we go! First, let’s prepare the herbs. I use thyme, onion powder, turmeric, garlic powder,…

  • Love Yourself

Last week, as I sat at my computer staring at the empty document in front of me I realized something very disheartening about myself. I had every intention and plan to write a blog about loving yourself, perfectly planned the day after Valentine’s Day. Sitting with my hands on the keyboard, I couldn’t type. I had nothing to say about loving yourself because I had not accepted that truth yet. I wrote a “fluff” piece about my favorite workouts (you can read about that here) and walked away extremely disheartened about my new realization. I asked God for wisdom because I knew this was a message that desperately needed to…

  • Workout Ideas!

I am a week into my Miracle Morning. Getting up early is very difficult for me, because I love sleep, but it has truly been worth every minute! I have really enjoyed spending that time reading and praying, but I have a hard time getting motivated to workout. I have never been one to workout in the morning, I would much rather workout in the late afternoon. However, the few days I have exercised in the morning I felt way more energized and focused and was able to accomplish so much that day! First note, don’t wait to get motivated to accomplish your goals. I can pretty much guarantee I…

  • How do I find time to workout!?

Question for you, friend – Do you workout? If your answer is no I’d like to ask you, why not? I bet I know your answer – “I just don’t have time.” Right? I hear this so much, I have used this excuse a time or two (or fifty). How on earth was I able to go from having no time to workout to working out 7 days a week? Here’s some tips… What’s taking up your time? I want you to write out your daily schedule, including when you watch TV or scroll through social media. There will be time within your day to exercise even if it’s only 30 minutes.…

  • My Whole30 Experience

DISCLAIMER: I completed what I call Whole30ish, it is not Whole30. Also, before starting any diet please check with your doctor. These are my experiences and what has worked for me, I cannot guarantee your results. I started Whole30 on January 2nd, and wrote in my planner that this week’s blog post would be called “My Whole30 Experience” since I ended this round yesterday. This is going to get interesting… I HATED it. Why you ask? When you go through trials in life, you learn things about yourself that you didn’t know before. Well, I learned that I am a serious foodie. My life revolves around food, most of my…

  • Get Over Yourself

This past week was rough for me… there was not any particular event that happened, no bad news or health issues (aside from my husband who had a cold), my kids are great, we didn’t have a packed schedule, nothing that I can point out to explain why I felt so discouraged. But I was in a serious funk and I wasn’t sure why so I couldn’t fix it to get myself back up. (the life of being female all in one paragraph for you!) My husband goes to work before the sun comes up and comes home after the sun goes down, giving me one day a week to…

  • Goals, Vision, Now PLAN

“Failing to plan is planning to fail”… who all has heard that quote? It’s used so much, but couldn’t speak more truth. I want you to think back on a dream or project you never finished, what happened? When I look back, my number one reason for not accomplishing whatever it was is because I failed to properly plan. We’ve talked about vision in the past, and vision is so important but many people stop there. They even go as far as writing their goals down and making a vision board, but if you do not ACT on those goals all of it is insignificant. “A dream written down with…

  • My Word for 2018

For the past few years I have chosen a “word for the year”, something that describes my goal, intent, or mindset. Have you heard of this before? I find it very fun and inspiring! Last year my word was “Focus” and was founded on the scripture Matthew 6:33, “Seek first the kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and He will give you everything you need.” 2017 was the first year I made plans for my goals and put them on my vision board, and it was quite overwhelming for me. How could I accomplish all of these goals in just one year? And after praying and meditating…
